Tri Ad Ik Side Table

A triangle, a circle, and a square: for the Bauhaus masters, Wassily Kandinsky among them, three shapes were enough to build a visual language. The Tri Ad Ik Side Table, a sculptural side table from Malabar, condenses that idea into a single, compact gesture.

An inverted pyramid, a triangle in profile with a wide square top that serves as the tabletop, rests its point on a second pyramid, in a poised balance that invites a second look. Two brushed brass curved forms cradle the junction where the two meet, echoing the circle.

The materials turn geometry into sensation. Lioz, the Portuguese limestone, shapes the inverted pyramid in a warm coral tone; Verde Estremoz terrazzo, speckled with white chips, forms a base that recalls a mosaic floor; and the brushed brass curved forms catch the light between them in gold and silver tones. Each surface keeps its own identity, yet together they read as one balanced composition.

Graphic and compact, it works beside a sofa or armchair, in an entryway, or as a pair in a lounge or hotel suite, a functional accent that doubles as a small sculpture. The name Tri Ad Ik plays on "triadic": three forms, three pieces, one collection, alongside the dining table and the dining chair.
