AO FADO DESTINADO
“Destined to Fado”
Created in 2012 for the original Tudo Isto É collection, the title plays on the double meaning of fado, which in Portuguese is both a music and a destiny. Across the body of the guitar, hand-drawn imagery in black ink evokes the age of the Discoveries, with caravels and crosses sharing the surface with the word “caos” and other irreverent details. The result is a guitar that carries history, fate and humor in the same gesture.
