Where art, design and collaboration take new form.
Siza Vieira
Álvaro Siza Vieira is one of the most celebrated Portuguese architects of his generation. Born in Matosinhos in 1933 and awarded the Pritzker Architecture Prize in 1992, he is recognized worldwide for an architecture of rigor, light and quiet poetry, deeply attentive to place and to the materials that shape it.
His work, from the Serralves Museum in Porto to the Portuguese Pavilion at Expo ‘98 in Lisbon, has become part of the country’s cultural landscape.
SIZA VIEIRA
Untitled
Created in 2012 for the original Tudo Isto É collection, this guitar translates the architect’s language into the Portuguese guitar. Pale, honest wood and a pure silhouette let the instrument speak through proportion and line, while the carved scroll of the headstock remains a quiet focal point. Without ornament, the piece reflects a vision where restraint is its own form of expression.
