Loro Piana x Dimoremilano at Milan Design Week 2025
Milan Design Week 2025 was brimming with visionary design, but the Loro Piana x Dimoremilano installation stood out as one of the most talked-about moments. Set in the storied Palazzo Cortile della Seta, the collaboration brought together Loro Piana’s luxurious textiles and Dimoremilano’s evocative, narrative-driven interiors. The result was an immersive, emotionally rich experience that blurred the line between fashion, architecture, and memory — capturing the very spirit of contemporary design.

Loro Piana x Dimoremilano: “La Prima Notte di Quiete”
Named after the 1972 Italian film La Prima Notte di Quiete, the installation guided visitors through a dreamlike series of rooms where time felt suspended. With dim lighting, vintage forms, and rich textiles, Loro Piana x Dimoremilano created an atmosphere of quiet introspection — a showcase of fabric mastery and cinematic design.

The Instalattion
The installation felt like wandering through a memory or an undreamed dream. Soft tones and vivid bursts of ochre, violet, and deep orange created emotional depth. Dimoremilano’s furnishings, reimagined with Loro Piana’s textiles, blended the past and present, offering a sensory journey of introspection and quiet luxury.

At the center of “La Prima Notte di Quiete” was the interplay of material and emotion. Loro Piana’s fabrics, known for their excellence and refinement, served as essential elements in the design, wrapping furniture, curtains, and walls in understated sophistication. Dimoremilano amplified this with contrasts, combining softness and metallic finishes, and muted tones with touches of amber and chrome, resulting in a look that was both contemporary and timeless.
More than just a visual showcase, the installation reflected a growing desire in contemporary design for depth, memory, and slowness. In an industry often focused on innovation and speed, Loro Piana x Dimoremilano offered a counterpoint — a return to intimacy, to texture, to storytelling. It was a celebration of what is handcrafted, curated, and emotionally resonant. These are values that align deeply with Malabar’s own philosophy: design as a layered, lived-in experience rooted in cultural heritage and artistic vision.

In a week filled with high-profile launches and visually intense installations, the Loro Piana x Dimoremilanocollaboration stood out by doing less. Instead of relying on spectacle, it encouraged visitors to slow down and focus on atmosphere, texture, and emotion. From the soft drapery to the warm amber lighting, every detail was carefully designed to create a quiet, immersive environment. It was impactful not because of technology, but because of its thoughtful use of materials and space.
This approach is what made La Prima Notte di Quiete resonate. More than an installation, it was a reflection on how design can engage our senses and emotions. It offered an alternative to fast-paced trends, reminding us that strong design doesn’t need to be loud to leave a lasting impression.
“We challenged ourselves, together with Dimoremilano, to push the boundaries of creativity and craftsmanship. This installation embodies Loro Piana’s art of living through exceptional materials, meticulous attention to detail, and a rich, sensory experience.”
